Well, I suppose it's time I thought about Christmas (put it off this long!)

Got this weekend only to buy my pressies (thanks to the op next week)

So, on a related topic, to waste some time on a Friday - what are you chaps expecting for Christmas pressies (realistically) Or: What have you asked the wife/missus/family to get you :)

In the absence of anybody wanting to rebuild my engine, I may ask for this: posted by Zippy (IDW) on Yahoo from the Stelvio Yahoo group....

Subject: [stelvio_or_bust] Interesting book for Christmas

A few of you may be aware that I have been in contact with an author based in Hong Kong who has been writing a book on the joys of driving. The title of the book is "On the Road".

The culture of driving is a rare subject, as the market has more than enough titles about cars and how to drive them.

The book is filled with the sort of stories swapped every night over a good meal during Stelvio and would make an idea stocking filler suggestion for wives and partners not to mention a present like minded friends.

The author - Peter Schindler is a real car nut and has recently sent me some mesmerising photos of some of the roads he has recently covered while touring in China.

On the Road can be purchased, either from http://www.ontheroadeditions.com (a nice web site with lots of quality pics) at £18.99 for a signed copy shipped to anywhere in the world or £16.99 from U.K. bookstores.

I got a copy of Perry's book (bought out his hand at LM a couple of years ago)

Top, top read. Man's a legend in his own ego, but it's laugh out loud funny at times 8)

Yeah - Flat out, Flat Broke.

Sometimes funny as hell at other times could bring you to tears.

I'm looking out for the book by Prof Sid Watkins.

Cheers
