Don't buy anything from 2000 onwards. Built like sh1t. We have 15 e classes at work. All rubbish. Much better off in a BM or Audi... IMHO
Older merc's are properly built, and will last the pace.... more so than the latest tat.
Sounds like a nice buy Andy.
Was leather not standard on the Elegance?

Good to hear the Elise is back. MB sounds a great buy definitely the tool for the M8 cruise. I go to Germany a lot with work and the taxis there are all MB Eclass. The older ones are still good for 200Kmh on the Autobahn!
Is the Hummer/Touareg shelved for the moment?
Cheers

yeah, toyed with the hummer, but 10mpg! Not the best.
Its hard to know what the ideal vehice is but the Merc should do for the mean time.
Loving the wet and the A048's on the 111r though.....at each and every roundabout i spy

So i'm not the only one with an E-class then?
Not quite the handling for the twisties but as you say, great for the M8 run! Sit back, relax & let the car drive you rather than you driving the car.

Yip 48's are on the list for next year along with pagids. The standard advans understeer a bit. Could be the skinny tyres but more likely my driving is p*sh poor, so will have to add walshy day to list as well.

Mine are on OZs but you don't get them for 111Rs AFAIK so Exige wheels are probably the cheapest option for you.
