Lotus Clubs - worth joining???

Post by alcabs » Wed Jan 10, 2007 6:03 pm

Does anyone on the forum have any opinions on Club Lotus or the Official Lotus Factory owners Club???

I've been considering joining one of them (seems like Club Lotus is the one to join as its the oldest and the biggest) as it could be handy for info / discounts / club meets, etc. Which one does the best club mag?

Or are they just a waste of time and money?

meets - fine if you live in Kent or Norfolk or somewhere down there

My ex's mum bought me a years membership for my birthday last year. For the £35ish you get 4 very thin magazines/lotus adverts once a quarter and a metal membership card. :?

I didn't renew it when the time came

The OLC or what ever it's called now used to be great - ok you got the naff mag and stuff, but you also got the forum which gave you access to the likes of Nick Adams.

Don't think he does it anymore though - it's also where I met IDW (Zippy) and Tut! :D

I was a member of one of the more popular clubs for many years, and really enjoyed it. However only just returning back to Lotus ownership after five years away, and then joining the SE. I think you could spend your money more wisley. As you can get all the help here that you need, and there are more things organised for the SE. You cant get better than here. Well thats my opionion. :thumbsup

its not worth it. The info in their mags is normally well out of date by the time you get them also.
