Question about the 135R
Cheers Max... I'll keep an eye out for you.
Is there some kind of Lotus owners special wave I should learn? Good to know in advance... as I just about fell off my motorbike trying to wave back at someone the 1st time, really shouldn't have used my right hand... (adopted the nod after that)
And yes, it will be on track at KH.
The Chippy is the one at the other end from Dreadnoughts new premises. Not far from where they used to be. If you park up behind the Dreadnought Hotel and walk down to the main street it is almost in front of you on the other side of the road. Just watch your head for dive bombing birds if you then decide to have a sit down at the water !!
Paul made me try another chippy with some fancy name nearer the middle of the main road (opposite side). It was rubbush.
I know the paint you mean.... think Paul has been frequenting too many disco's to come up with that one...

I know Paul and his father quite well, we had a competetion once at a Dreadnought trackday to see who could post the fastest lap, (just he and I on the circuit), he had his racing 230hp Metro then, and I won a free geo set up from it.
They have a very good reputation as well as being a friendly bunch, so if they will service youre Elise you will not go far wrong.

ps I was right behind Paul when he went straight on at the Hairpin and into the tyre wall.

Ah that may well be right but for simplicity and piece of mind when buying my 135R it made a lot of sense to stick in the tracker.simon wrote:You need to find a better insurermax1966 wrote:and as it required a tracker fitted
Having had a car filched and an attempted from my drive (you can't steal a boxster with a screw driver) the Elise is stored away from the house. The building alarm is monitored but by the time anyone can get there it would be well gone. A phonecall to tracker at least gives you a chance of getting it back and hopefully quickly.
Anyway you pays your money...................
if evolution don't take care of it, redesign it
I've gone through A-Plan for insurance.... but strangely enough, on the Direct Line website the 135R was the only model in the Elise range that didn't flag up the need for a tracker !!!
Tut... Pauls sister took me round in her metro a few years back. I think hers was around 160bhp (1.4 K-series with DTH TB). It felt well balanced from the passenger seat... break away was progressive.
I think the ZT520 takes up most of their focus now tho'. I'll dip the toe in the water with The Luti family with the Elise then... and see how we go.

Thought he beat you but took pity and gave you a free geo anyway...

Yep, it's the yellow one. Were you in on Saturday mutley? What did you buy? I saw someone (with a kid) eyeing up an Elise behind me... I heard the woman say to the kid "don't touch anything". My kids were warned outside before the wife brought them in.
No did not have the kids with me but the wife had to tell me not to touch.picked our car up in aberdeen as seen in other posts.only 8 days to go
Ali, he did beat me by 0.3 secs, but still gave me the free geo.
Correct Mac, got my corners mixed up. It was me that that had the MMC disk disintegrate at the Hairpin.

"You may be wondering what happened to my elise at Knockhill (apart
from the obvious). Well I was on my out lap which you all know should
be taken at a slower speed in order to allow brakes, tyres etc to
warm up. All was well til I reached Clarks, pressed the brake pedal
and couldn't stop. I pumped the pedal a few times then gave up and
pulled the handbrake to find myself "parked" in the tyre wall. My
first thought was that a brake pipe had broken because the pedal had
shown no signs of trouble ahead. A post morten has revealed that the
pin that holds the pads in on the rear calliper had infact broken and
dropped one of the pads on to the track somewhere.
It may be something for you to look out for!
Not to worry though, the car will be back on the road in no time.
Looking forward to seeing you all back on the track!!!

FAO TUT I hear you are the man to beat at knockhill so i have a
friendly challenge for you. If you come up to one of our Dreadnought
tracknights and can do a faster lap than my metro I'll 4 wheel aline
your Elise for free. How does that sound?"

I never did figure out why on the next lap there was two black parallel lines on the track
Still at the time we didn't really know Paul, but do now so the benifit of the doubt is always extended
