Kind of a bit late to be asking I guess but I've just ordered a 12"x3" front number plate to replace the standard (20"x4") saves hitting the ground on the way into the office car park
Does anyone else run a smaller number plate and do you get any trouble from the boyz in blue?

i have but its not fitted i used a home made alloy mount and velco for the plate so mot just swop over or any motor checks in area, or leave off for fast road driving
however since a rabbit hit the clam and bent /twisted the mount i now have a good excuse for not having a plate officer

logic: if u dont have a reg plate, what r the consequence? fine!? (i dont think u get points on ur license)
probability: in a year how many times would u get stopped for it?
weight: how many plates would u break in a year?
solution: PAY THE FINE! u'll probably end up spending lesser that way.
SAFEST AND LEGAL SOLUTION: CHANGE YOUR JOB, select one where the parking space wont destroy ur plate!

My front plate came off two months ago getting tyres fitted (shug's car fitted on the same ramps - so it should go, but he doesn’t have a plate either

)
Been stopped once, by the traffics, ended up with them apologising for using my time. Very cordial

where do you guys get small plates made up?
(I'm tempted to get a sticky one on the left side at the front Alfa/Ferrari 599 style - just underneath the left hand headlight)
Mair throttle, less brake

Need to update my plates but worried about how hard they might be to get off. Think they are stuck on my 2002 S2 Elise.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
Many thanks

Are the sticker plates illegal? You know, the ones you can stick on your bonnet?
I had one on a kit car, but they follow different rules to normal cars so I never got pulled (Side exit exhausts on the passenger side aren't allowed either in case you harm a pedestrian, but was fine on a kit... and I was able to polute all I wanted).
If those sticker plates are allowed, I might get one for the front.
I have no signature.

That sounds very cool, may have a look at that @ the weekend.

That won't really work on an S2 though because of the extra vents.
