just had new windscreen fitted by autogxxxs :x clam not sitting right 5mm too high .any suggestions? :?:

Did they loosen off the clam to fit it?
Normally glass installers insist on a stealer doing it?!

Autoglass seem to have a habit of supplying non Lotus windscreens that do not fit.

Two windscreens supplied by them did not fit my car properly. The third, ordered from Lotus, fitted just fine.

Have now just read your post properly and seen the issue is with your clam. Who did the undoing and doing up of the clam?

they fcuk my clam up as well. Ended up just sorting it out myself as i wasn't for taking the car back there, hanging about for a day and still not having it right.

STEVE WALKER BODYSHOP FITTED THE CLAM AND DID MENTION THE WINDOW APPEARED TO BE TO FAR OUT AT THE BOTTOM. HE FITTED THE CLAM THE BEST HE COULD, BUT ITS SITTING ABOUT 5MM ABOVE THE DOOR LINE. AFTER GETTING A TECHNICIAN FROM MMC :shock: TO HAVE ALOOK AT IT , HE RECKONS THE WINDCREEN IS SITTING TO FAR OUT AT ALL FOUR CORNERS. AUTOGLASS HAVE HAD A LOOK AT IT AND HAVE SUGGESTED I TAKE IT TO MMC AND THEY WILL REMOVE CLAM AND AUTOGLASS WILL REPLACE WINDSCREEN.....BUT AS TO WHO PAYS MMC FOR CLAM REMOVAL...... AUTOGLASS RECKON ONLY ONCE CLAM HAS BEEN REMOVED WILL THEY BE ABLE TO ASSESS WHAT HAPPENED. ITS BOOK IN ON FRIDAY !
