Had it on in the background whilst giving my full attention to the system I was dialled in to over in Poland... honest boss. Some pretty shocking carnage...

Did you see that Transit trying to discretely pull back off the hard shoulder while the copper ticketed someone else? I thought they normally worked in pairs so they didn't miss people while the other wrote the ticket.
I have no signature.

In fact this incident was covered in a lengthy Police program a while ago. It was amazing the forensics the Police used to study the crash. They could even tell whether a car's brake lights were on at the time. The lorry's were not so they worked out that he had hit the stationary car at 60mph  The car was unrecognisable.
This is indeed a repeat of the programme. My brother travels a lot on motorways down South and said despite the heavier penalties, he still see idiots on phones not controlling their vehicles properly.

A Police officer arriving at your door to tell you a member of your family is dead is an image I can assure you remains with you for the rest of your life (39 years since my dad died in a road accident)

Can't believe the idiots driving up the hard shoulder.
There can't of been much left of the woman who died. Her car was a Pug 306 and was hit by a lorry at 60mph when she was stationery. Over all length of her car after that was probably not much more than a meter.
