HID kits

Post by r055 » Thu Mar 22, 2007 4:30 pm

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/147369.htm

Been reduced to 85 quid through this seller as he says he can get direct from suppliers...

anyone else looked into HID kits - other than the elise parts kits?
Are these not just the ebay specials?

anything i need to look out for in the S1 installation???

They are not that much cheaper than the tried-and-tested on elises / exiges elise-shop kits, so I know what I would buy.

Exactly, why spend £85 only to find you've bought a bag of spam?
There was a thread somewhere (pistonheads maybe?) where a guy had bought ebay specials at about £80 and binned them cos they were rubbish and an MOT failure. Also they were dangerous as there was no shielding on the end of the bulb so there was just a scatter of light and no pattern.

Ed's selling a set of these, and I've seen the kit. Very impressive

They'd be going on mine if i hadn't sold it

Sorry I did not get the chance to meet you today.
The lights look fairly easy to fit will give it a go when I get back from Prague next week.
Will look out for you at the next track day at Knockhill and maybe join the queue for a pax in the red beast

Alan
