Spannering

Post by mac » Mon Mar 19, 2007 8:48 pm

Was doing some work on Mandy's elise on Saturday to get it through the MOT. Whilst I was in at the front end, changing the camber and ARB settings (with the help of Rob) we decided that we might as well fit the HID's whilst we were in there. Won't go into the detail as JJ has already done so - but once you've figured out what all the bit refered to in the instructions actually are then it's an easy job with great results.

Anyway - New plugs installed, 2 new coil packs, 2 new plug leads (Magnicore of course), HID's, camber sorted, ARB softened and dampers knocked back a few clicks.

All in all - a good day spent and the car should be ready for the road (unless it fails the emissions again) many thanks to Rob for the hand and also talking me through the rugby :D

No Mr Mac - Thank you!
Although it's still not running right - thanks for teaching me the basics - ie changing park plugs/coil packs/leads etc! Definitely what SEs is all about!
If anyone needs a hand with their books - gies a shout and I'll do my best to help!

As for the HIDs - definetly on the list of mods - when the cars' finally running right, and I've had the back resprayed!

As for talking you through the rugby - not much of a game to talk you through!

Now if we fitted Spark plugs then it might have helped :D

How difficult is it to cross thread a K plug? I have often wondered as the plug bores are so tall so to get the angle off would take some doing. I'm always paranoid about that bit.... Especially as the plugs always seem to go loose-tight-loose-tight-etc whenever I have changed them.

Mac, Rob was good to meet you both weekend before last.

As you both know but others don’t I was heading over to meet Mac and was a bit lost when I passed an Elise, I flagged it down and Rob drove back to Mac’s to show me the way. Who needs GPS just flag down the nearest Elise and ask for directions.

Anyway a set of Konis (not yet installed) thanks Mac, a wiper (now installed) thanks Rob and a bit of chat later I headed off.

Now I know where to come I’ll probably turn up again one day with my wee plastic car in a polly bag cos I’ve taken it apart and can’t get it back together.

Thanks again guys.

BIG thanks to Mac for finally fixing my poorly wee car!
Fitted a new TPS on Friday night! Now it works like a dream- no more Kangarooing along the roads!

Next spannering help may be to fit a Hurricane and Driving lamps - any volunteers?
