Euro style, GB or SCO reg. Plates

Post by CSK_423 » Fri May 18, 2007 4:25 pm

Someone on here must know this one.

When abroad I'm aware that you can display a registration plate with the blue band and euro symbol (circle of gold stars) opposed to whacking on a GB sticker to your boot lid or back window.

My question is does a plate with the same as above but substitute the GB for SCO still qualify meaning no need for GB sticker ????

Checked everywhere but not read anything to confirm ot deny this is correct :?

Want to highlight that I'm scottish wither it's true or not you supposedly get a better reception from the locals

I think the AA website gives advice on that - depending on the country you're going to! Check this site!

This seems to imply it has to be GB.

Having just had a read of that, I think its refering to the Euro symbol not the GB part.

Had no problems last year with SCO and Euro symbol
No, No! not Bloke. It's pronounced Black, as in Plaque

I'm getting GB plates (as substitute for GB sticker) for France in the summer. I have been advised its worth getting an 'Ecosse' sticker too, for a better response from the locals
