I can see mcApe's point with getting toasted but they are generally pretty good for road trips, I took the exige all the way to south of spain with laura, if I could have taken the roof off it would have been an ideal choice.

S2000 came on the trip with us and was the only car not to miss a beat, and it had aircon.

Cheers once again folks.

Told Gem i thought I should buy a car now and she glared at me.

Perhaps I should punt the Golf now and use what ever i buy as my daily driver.

CAnt believe how cheap these are getting: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2397818.htm

How does it work with car finance. Can I take this with me to my new car? :scratch

cheers

Could be an inspired choice.

I believe if you have true car finance, it's attached to the asset (the car) and needs cleared when you dispose...or theoretically transferred to next owner but I think that unlikely, this is what HPI checks etc are for I imagine.

If you're going to finance your replacement car, finance company will add oustanding finance on existing car to new car finance and create new agreement.

clear existing finance, providing it is on the car and not a personal loan you have funding the golf. Then secure the S2!

You'd probbaly trust it more if you driven it regularly before taking it abroad.

Bit late but just thought that I would let you know.

If only my S2k had a wee bit more feedback from what the front wheels were doing I would proclaim it the bestest car in the world (for me). There are a few mods that help but it's the only fault I can find - I can live with it though :-)

Ed how many years have you been plaguing my door step for what was the start of the F1 season at Albert Park? Have you learnt nothing from the movie I insist on watching prior ?

It was the woeful lack of torque that drove me mad when I had mine. Also mine was far from reliable despite being only 2 yr old.
