Not fake Tut, just sh*t. Probably about £30 parts, £270 brand name. You're right Tut, buying a fashion watch is just about the biggest waste of money there is.

For that money check out Hamilton, Tissot, Christopher Ward, Seiko, Citizen and Orient.

Not asking for anybodies else opinion as it is very personal thing, but I would not go for a designer watch, and at £300 I would want a conventional movement unless quartz is now better at this price range.

Tut, be under no illusion, quartz is significantly more accurate than a mechanical movement.

Tut, have a look at these - http://www.kennettonline.com/watches Good quality for the money, Ive got the Altitude and a Savro.

The company is owned by a good friend of mine so will be able to do an SE price of course. They are made in the same factory as Jorg Gray.

I've got a Jorg Gray 6500 which is in a similar price brakcet and I think is a far more expensive looking watch than those branded with designer logos.

It's not quite an Omega or Rolex but for that sort of cash it's a cracking watch which gets lots of admiring comments. I also looked at some nice Hamilton watches when I bought mine.

I don't do expensive watches, but am gutted that my cheapo mechanical Seiko 5 is now picking up a LOT of time over the day (like 45 minutes in the working day..)

In this day and age, I loved having something that is not dependant on anything but some cogs and springs, it seems it wasn't the way to go :(

Thanks guys, now looking around at the reccomendations.

This Tissot is very similar styled but better looking, a reputable make, but on googling here I suspect that these are fake. Had an online chat and was assured that it was genuine with a two year warranty, but the site still has some pigeon English speak on it. Real or genuine?

That one is almost certainly a replica, Tut. Too good to be true. Far too cheap and a dodgy looking website.

Good choice of model though, but possibly over budget for a real one.

Really liking the look of this and feel I may go for it. Found a better price but only £30 cheaper. I am a believer in you pay for quality though. Think I may well go ahead. Little pick me up after all that has happened recently as things are quite miserable. Though a new Lotus would put a bigger smile on my face. Haha

Ok, well I made my decision and I bought my watch today. Would be interested to know what you guys think of my choice.

If you go to the link below the watch I chose is in the upper left corner.

Thanks in advance for feedback.

Well, depends what you paid for it. Poor quality and a total scam company, but if you got it for very little cash, and you really like it then who cares?
