Bottom left is a quartz seamaster mid from the 90s. The middle bottom is a manual wind Speedmaster Pro "moon watch" 8)
None self-winding then hence no need for a winder?

I use my winder when working away :thumbsup

Have hankered after one of these for a while and finally took the plunge. It neatly fits in with my other watches as I don't own a white dial or GMT. Those in the know will spot this is the previous Explorer II model. When the new model came out recently I was disappointed in it (liked the size at 42mm but didn't like the fat font on bezel, strange arrowhead on GMT hand and fatter hands) so stuck with the prior model. As they are not being made any longer (although still being sold by ADs until stock runs out) hopefully it's reasonably safe money and might even appreciate in time like SDs and other sports Rolex models. Not that bothered about that mind you as bought it to wear, but handy to know if it ever has to go up for sale.

Any suggestions/recommendations of other watches to check out ? Would consider new or secondhand.
Think I will buy a Seiko skx007 (k2) as want a divers style watch, waterproof to 200m, metal bracelet, like the black face with some kind of colour highlight. Can't see how I can loose apart from i cant try one for size before i buy as you can get the seiko new on websites for £130.

Checked out Certina DS which I really liked the look and feel but just a bit big on my wrist debated for ages on it though, Tissot sea star dearer but didn't feel worth it, don't like look of Seiko Monster. I tried on the few Citizen i liked but they were huge faced and not suitable, dont like any Oris ones. On a forum i found pics of Boschett Cave Dweller 2, really liked the look but no availability and it is a pretty big watch as well so not sure if suitable.

Boring maybe but would really like a black faced Omega Seamaster so really dont want to spend more than £500 max (preferably much less) as anymore is creeping too close towards the price of a 2nd hand Omega.

Bought one of these 5 years ago as my daily beater, for around £180... Chunky, but not too oversized.

Great watch; it's seldom off my wrist.

The skx007 is nice.
If you like that, and you like the Seamaster... then as an alternative from the Omega family your budget will easily get you a pre-owned Longines Hydroconquest auto. Pre-owned opens up the option of 39mm in addition to the current 41mm version.

I just grabbed myself a pre-owned 39mm for £400,

A couple of hundred more & some haggling would probably get a shiny new 41mm one.... or if you were happy with quartz, your £500 would bag one.

Cheers Andy.
I saw the Longines mentioned on a watch forum and meant to have a closer look but forgot, i'll take a closer look now especially if there is a 2nd hand market.

Prefer this one to the Dario or Coulthard...

Is it worth paying a smidge more for the limited edition?
In the market for a day to day watch...is that a good price or do I need to look elsewhere or haggle on the high street?

Or in TW Steel terms, none of the above : Kelly Rowland

Quote from their website "Our Brand Ambassadors represent the very best of TW Steel. Each ambassador enjoys the distinction of having their very own TW Steel timepiece created in their honour. From sporting legends, such as Emerson Fittipaldi and Mick Doohan, to active racers in Dario Franchitti and David Coulthard, and finally acting talent in the form of Kivanç Tatlitug. TW Steel’s ambassadors are as big and as bold as the brand!"

then the latest person splashed over the website is Kelly Rowland, dont often hear her mentioned in the same context as Fittipaldi, Franchitti and Coulthard
