However, with advice like tuts we might change that.......maybe?

J33AMA and Gary should maybe read what they have written before posting!
:thumbsup

Constructive is always better, and the preview button is worth it's weight in gold.

Sounds like you and me should definately NOT hook up any time soon in our cars :D Like me, sounds like you love to show off your car, and the busier the place the better. I loving nothing more than to scream from zero to forty at a set of lights on Glasgow road (edi) as fast as possible. Maybury Road (edi) is fantastic too, but I have come to realise, too many people are watching and too many people can be unpredictable making our drving styles potentially deadly. Im not preaching, and if I am, its to myself too! Just reading this has made me realise that these cars CAN and often DO result in a complete change in attitude within a person. I get in the car and feel like superman, I feel better than everyone else, and I feel that if I can, I should push the car to what I perceive to be its limits, and make sure everyone around knows it!

I dont want slaughtered for posting how much of a twat I can be in the car. My excuse is I have only been driving for 6 months and as such, I have the whole "new kid with a car" as well as the "lotus factor" to contend with. My driving over the last month or two has improved dramatically, I am much more aware of my surroundings and the people who I can affect with my sometimes insane driving. I feel like I am learning at a seriously fast pace, and my respect for other road users whilst still on the short side, is growing.

For the record, I have been pulled 9 times in the Elise, and 3 in one night (said night ended in the grassmarket incident). That was 3 months ago, and I haven't been pulled since - proves I am getting better.
For future reference, if I organise another road run at any stage, neither yourself or J33ama will be welcome.

You might want to grow the f**k up before somebody dies.
Firstly, must say totally gutted I am barred from all "shug runs"

And secondly , please put this thread to bed I have realised now how posting certain things can really upset people and invite them to jump right on the high horse n all , people will drive their cars however they want , generally I can drive a bit frantic at times , on almost every occasion it would be at the right time and place . Just so happens the said incident was at wrong time wrong place , we all make mistakes .

anyway thanks for any constructive critisisim , few post were a bit nasty .

I enjoy scottishelises.com though its not the only elise/exige based site .

For those who would rather not have the likes of me and gary within the "community" then so be it , wont loose any sleep over it.

must add I am not promoting gary's post or agreeing with it entirely, after the "telling" I recieved for the little incident i was involved in , it was maybe asking for trouble a bit m8 .

anyway am away to activate my SELOC account again

I just went back and read my first post , I think a few guys are totally over reacting about what I said . Give me a break, honestlyIf you read the replys to my original post without reading my post you would think i had done 100mph down the main st, at 3:35 when all the school kids were walking home , only to come to a roundabout , go sideways round it 3 times before doing ton50 back down mainst.

Hope your next sh*t s a hedgehog

Try lightening up when you're jammed in the remains of your Lotus wondering if you're going to die and what happened to whoever's blood is running down the seats. Most posts here are tongue-in-cheek. Nowt wrong with a serious one occasionally

Actually, that's harsh...

Sure everyone on this forum will have at some point driven like a c0ck, or at least come across that way to observers. I'd be the first to admit it.

If you advertise it in public however- either to the cops or on here- you're rightly asking for a roasting.

That said, I'm now light.

Get off your high horse, at least i'm bloody honest. Doesnt make it right, and when I realised I was being a dick, I took action to stop.

Similarly speechless  That is the kind of attitude which will give all Lotus drivers and this forum a bad name.

Mark
Why? I was being completely honest, and was trying to explain how I let the car and it's ability go to my head. I also explained that upon realising this, I have been taken steps to address it. It replies like this that stop people being honest and open.
