Would be ideal for a 6R4 conversion. It already has vents above the taillights to aid cooling :mrgreen:
Or even an ice cream van 8)

Righto!

This idea was aired a couple of years ago, and was enthusiastically embraced ... but never got off the ground. Following various conversations on Friday night at the AMP3 party, it looks like there could still be some strong interest.

From memory, last time, there were several teams established, but no-one quite had the confidence to be the first to buy a car - in case nobody else did. So, I have a suggestion. IF we can get teams established again, and get things off the ground, here is how it may work;

We get ourselves organised into teams of 4 or 5.

Budget £500

We all meet on a Sunday afternoon in Glasgow (as there are several car auctions on a Sunday afternoon - if anyone has a better suggestion, feel welcome to offer it). We meet at, say Midday, and need to re-convene at 5PM with our purchases, either from auction or else where, on the day. That would be the first challenge!

Then, we can come up with a list of events to do throughout the winter / spring as per the suggestions earlier in this thread.

So, who's in? :lol:

Count me in I am properly excited about this. All I need is a one way flight to Bratislava to retrieve the Luxobarge but I fear it may be coke cans by now. Is team Shannahannahanahan full or is there room for one more unhinged autotester?

Wanted to do this for my stag do - but was a bit costly to keep everyone involved. Also wanted to include a treasure hunt as part of the challenges - strictly no speeding and points for mpg, sticking to correct times between waypoints etc.

Not sure finances allow with Junior coming along shortly, but will check the piggy bank and see what the local SE'rs think - sounds like fun!

Love the idea :thumbsup

Can I just do the driving part :mrgreen:

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

I can tell you right now...I love the idea but the financial plan currently lodged with HQ, now focuses on Christmas :shock: , scraping the Elise through a winter maint programme :thumbsup , and probably rebuilding the retaining wall in the driveway! :blackeye Spectating duties only for me, I reckon...but maybe Danny will enter the (older) Focus...or Lauren's Corsa :damnfunny

Hmmm - you seem to forget he has a rather more "potent" weapon sitting in his driveway that could do with stretching its legs?

If only I hadn't just scrapped 3/5ths of the fleet; Fiat coupe would have been just the ticket.
