Good to see the other side of this.

Social Services have opened up a huge sports centre in Tottenham, and local people, business's, Super Markets etc, are bringing in clothes, food, toiletries, everything needed for those that lost nearly everything, and all the advice desks have been set up, insurance companies, business advice, compensation help, counselling, re-housing, hotel accommodation, everything that will help them get through what they have lost or gone through.

I was really impressed with the reports of how the communities have pulled together and got stuck into the clean up, including helping shop keepers.

Has anyone checked and seen if parliment have sneaked through any non-related legislation that people would normally object to?

There is discussion at the moment as to whether it was a riot or not as it makes a big difference. By definition it is, as it was more than twelve people, but if classed so the police could be responsible for the £100M cost rather than the insurance companies.

It was pointed out that Cameron has not mentioned the R word yet.

This is a disaster. First rule of parenting - don't keep threatening and not carrying through.

Watching police standing around watching rioters is simply inciting more of the mindless idiots to go and join the "fun".

Instead of saying we have contingency, we have readiness, we have yada yada, GET IN THERE AND SET A BLOODY EXAMPLE.

ARGH.

If the London riots had been knocked on the head there might not have been the copycat incidents in other major cities.

Some of the comments on this video are hilarious. Can't stop laughing. Some of the Youtube posters really could do stand up.
