My main concern regarding taking my watch to a TAG dealer is that they'll send it off to a service centre more used to dealing with modern quartz & automatic movements.

(I guess it's akin to taking your BMW 2002 Ti into John Clark's for a service -They'd probably manage to do it, but they're more used to dealing with much more recent metal :) )

Hey, no offence taken. Sounds like Martins of Glasgow is a good choice. I'll remember this for next time

Think of sending it back to the manufacturers more like sending a Ferarri back to Modena for servicing. They designed and built the thing, I'd far rather it went there than someone's back room.

Martins of Glasgow have managed to fix my Panerai after 2 failed attempts by panerai themselves to identify and fix the problem, and at far less cost.

I had a bad experience with Chris Heal watches
(Chealwatches)
I've got A Tag Heuer Kirium Chronograph - battery one
The screw on the crown was goosed, so I sent it here to get repaired
Price was £180 - included the new crown, a service and a battery.
It came back about a week later & the chronograph reset button never worked.
Sent it back & they sorted it. Took 6 weeks!
It's happened again, well, it's really stiff - you need to push it off the side of a wooden table to make it work
Also the chrono hand which sits at 12 o'clock isn't 100% bang on, it's a baw hair over to the right
Was fine before

I'm not using them again

Incredible. I had to remind myself that he was working on something not much bigger than a 50p piece  You need steady hands for that.
