After hankering after one for years I finally got my hands on a Planet Ocean at the weekend.

It was bought for me as a best man gift by my extremely generous brother!

It's an absolutely beautiful watch in my opinion, very timeless (excuse the pun!). I can't stop looking at the thing!

It's my first automatic and as I won't be wearing it all the time I would like to get a watch winder. Anyone got any recommendations for a not-too-expensive winder? Preferably one which would look nice sitting out on a shelf.

Can no-one recommend a watch winder or even where to buy one?

Or is there not much difference between them?

I have this - cheap as chips and has worked perfectly for the last 3 years or so - my Navitimer goes in it every time I go offshore :thumbsup

Only downside is it doesn't have a built-in timer but I use one of those light timers for when you go on yer hols - perfect :D - and admittedly it's not super-pretty but I have it tucked out of sight in my study

Posher/prettier ones here, still not too extravagent - http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_nos ... e+tutelary

Thanks Ross, I had seen those but wondered if they were decent or if there was a better alternative.

Good to know that they are good, I'll order one ASAP. Cheers.

Cheers Ross, decided to look for a pre-owned one. Walkers only deal with new and the Speedy is around £2900 new but a more wife pleasing £1500 second hand.

Might pop into Stephensons in Dundee next weekend as they usually carry some pre-loved stock ;)

That watch winder works well.
It's silent too - so you won't hear it when ur sleeping.

Nice watch. I love the planet oceans.

Decided to treat myself to some new wrist candy on honeymoon.

Seiko Baby Tuna 8)

Never liked them in photos but it's really really nice on. In fact i've hardly worn anything else since i got it .

.....i've also just paid for my Pebble so that should be with me in a few weeks 8)
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Nice work regarding the Baby Tuna 8)

Be warned, though...Seiko's are addictive - They're reasonably priced, boringly reliable, look smart and are easily modded.

My pepsi-dial SKA369 has been semi-permanently attached to my wrist for 5 years - Although the Golden Tuna I bought last month has replaced it... :)

Just picked this up as a thirty quid beater - An SKX007

Image

12 years old, and tatty - But assuming the movement's okay over the next few weeks, it'll be treated to lots of nice yobokies parts...

He does a nice metal shroud / replacement bracelet for the Baby Tuna if you ever fancy a change :P
