Now bought :thumbsup

Just realised the tax on one of the fleet expired in July 2012  so thought I'd better start keeping an eye on this better.

Aren't they supposed to send me a reminder? :?

I just got my Esure renewal in for next month and my wife sarcastically said 'Should your app not remind you?'
My reply was 'yes it did, 8 days ago and the alerts tells me it is due in 22 days but I won't panic as app will remind me again when I have 7 days to go! :thumbsup

Can the app remind you when private plate retention document renewal is due ? I own a few (ahem) cherished plates and the crap DVLA renewal system gives me sleepless nights sometimes. An app which could allow me to keep track would be a useful kit.

Here is what I would do....
Take photo of reg number. Add a car but only add an additional reminder for the plates renewal date. The additional alerts can not be modified but will still remind you....simply delete once date is reached and then add it new should you need it the following year. I added one for my AA renewal....I'll get a couple of pics to show you.

Sorry Andrew you lost me there buddy. Are you saying I can set it as a AA renewal then a picture of the number plate flashes up on the screen on the date specified ?

No. Use app as if you are adding a new car using + button. I added a picture of AA logo instead of using a default car logo. Don't add any of the default reminders....but add an additional one called Renewal. Add the date and update.
Does that make any more sense?
Actually....if you already have one of your cars set up with the default reminders just add an additional one called Private Reg or something.
I'll grab a pic of additional reminder area of app

Think Andy is making it sound more complicated than it is!!

From my use of the app, here's what I would do to remind me if I had multiple reg no's on retention;

Set up a new car, but call it 'registration numbers' or similar (in the make and model field).
Once you then go into that 'car' in your garage you can then choose to add more fields, with a reminder date for each field. So make each reg number a new field, enter it's renewal date and Robert's yer mothers brother, you'll get a reminder when the retention renewal is due for each number.

Thanks guys I think I get it, I'm sure it will be self explanatory. For $0.69 I'm going to download the app and give it a try !

To be fair Andy, I can't see the pics so I was just going off the description- taking photos of the reg plate etc sounded like it was more hassle than was needed!

As you said though, just have a play and it's easy enough to work out.

It's a good app and well worth the 69p. :thumbsup
