Interesting story behind the Submariner Comex - was given to clients, none were ever sold, not suitable for saturation divers :D ....reminds me of visiting Comex's headquarters in Marseille many moons ago with my father on business - fascinating place :thumbsup
Only applies to that model IIRC

Don't you mean "without" an HEV. :scratch

Was my understanding that the Comex Sub was the only one with it, which then was developed to become the sea dweller...?

Watches not my thing but Theorema Coppernicus or Acapulco on Groupon. Ad claims list price is £810 and available for £179 so a £631 discount. Looks good at 78% off but personally I'd want to check other retailers to see how much they sell for :thumbsup

They look to be available for close to the discounted price at other retailers. They are cheap but take the 78% off as sales pitch, nothing more.

Sanj

The crown is at 12 o'clock as it's designed to be worn on the inside of the wrist.
You quite rightly state that it likely to be used by the medical profession...............think of a nurse checking your pulse and looking at the face on the inside of the wrist as it's less tiring than turning your wrist the normal way

A bit of googling....................says it's Juvenia skeleton watch.
16 jewel fab. Suisse movement so its after 1930's ...........likely to be late 1950's /early sixties

Picked up a couple of cheapies over the past 6 months or so...

TAG 2000 - Yes, it's a fancy Swatch with its quartz movement, but it's a classic design & well made with great lume and a nice sapphire crystal...Also dirt cheap, which is nice too... :)

(It's on a proper metal bracelet now).

Also acquired a Hamilton Khaki Auto - Actually rather impressed with this...Swiss made, with nice s/s case and strap, sapphire crystal front & back for the display case.

Runs the ubiquitous Valjoux / ETA 7750 movement, as fitted in the Omega Speedy & various TAG, Breitling, IWC, Panerai etc

(Obviously not COSC certified in a Hamilton, but has only been +4 secs per day, which isn't bad for an auto).

On a s/s bracelet

And I have a di modell offroad for it too

The movement

Might be of interest to the more frugal watch liking SE'er - Doesn't have a 'name' which will impress down the pub, but I picked mine up for rather less than a bare 7750 movement would cost, so a relative bargain I reckon.

Finally got my Tissot T Race that I've been trying to get my hands on for months.
Ended up doing a deal through Tech3 MotoGP team and got it direct from Switzerland. It's number 2468 of a total of 3333 produced.
Comes with a half size replica helmet for storage that doubles as a winder to keep it going if it's not being worn for a while.
Well chuffed with it. ImageImageImage

You get a lot of watch for your money with Hamilton, especially on the used market. I sold my Khaki Air Race model a while back but would have no qualms about picking up another at some point.
I have no signature.

I got a new watch for christmas, my new job will see me offshore and in a shipyard more than I am now so needed something more rugged than my Explorer II. Wenger are the original Swiss Army manufacturer so it should be good enough quality, and the GMT hand was a major attraction for working overseas.

Rolex will remain my daily, but the new one will be more suitable for under coveralls :thumbsup
