Edit:
The chart is here http://www.gamerankings.com/itemranking ... rankings=y - takes the average from all published reviews (or nearly all).
LOL, that chart is pretty awful tbh, 3 of the top 10 are pretty much Half Life 2 :D

Edit: Nintendo-fanboy faction here also
The this is, it's totally unbiased and goes purely on average scores from hundreds of resrouces. In the same way Rotten Tomatoes awards a film its points. Fairest way to rate the games, and a great indication of a classic. Every game in the top ten is gaming bliss, and half life 2 is my favourite PC game by a long shot.

Er unbiased ? Lets not forget the Atari fiasco, was reading more about them probably closing doors soon. :(

I have 3 kids and all they want is a Wii. I bought one on e-bay last week for £250 and I know, I know, I was robbed.

Spoke to the guys at Game and Game Station and although they were expecting stock in they reckoned that they wouldn't fulfil outstanding orders before Christmas. In Hamilton they closed the order list at 40 people. Game in Hamilton sell to the first people there in the morning.

They both said that you could buy one from Germany, buy a plug adaptor and bobs your aunty. If something goes wrong your stuffed tho.

Pay over the odds on Ebay. You know you want to.

I've had my Wii for a few months now... cant get enough of Tiger Woods 08.. and I dont even play golf!

I have the internet Opera browser on it, so can use Winamp remote to play my mp3s in the livingroom tv.

Also, have had my camera SD card in it to show photos to peeps on tv.

Excellent piece of kit for £180 (if you can get it at that price)

...

Yippee, that's me at the 500 mark.

Not the case. Nintendo's warranty is EU wide. You're fecked if you buy from the states or far east, but EU is fully warrantied. Read the EU boss of Nintendo saying this.

Lol again :p It's not completely unbiased as many of the reviews it takes into account are from unreliable sources (official Nintendo Magazine/Psworld etc) not to mention I wouldn't trust a good number of the websites reviews either.

Don't get me wrong, Galaxy is damn good, and maybe even deserving to be up there.

According to gamerankings top 200, Halo 2 ranks better than 3, GTA3 is better than Vice City, Gran Turismo 3 is better than 2, Burnout 3 is better than PGR2...
Basically, you can't compile such a thing as a fair top games list as games aren't reviewed in comparison to every other game ever!

There is no mension of Slitherlink (Eurogamer 10/10) or Nintendogs (Famitsu 40/40) amougst other greats. Plus there is an awful amount of recent games near the top, and of course gamerankings only just stretch back to the late 90s with some N64 games...

The orange Box is on my list of games to buy (I don't play PC games)

Wii seems to be in stock below @ £299.99, and although expensive, is a fairly large package
http://www.shopto.net/page.php?page=det ... rt=WIICO10
Adding seperate costs up...
Console 180
Wii Sports bundled with every console so free
Mario 30
Wii Play 35 (includes a second Wiimote)
Wing Island I suppose 30 although it's likely crap as i've not heard of it...
= 275.

Fair points, however I agree with the various games being better. Burnout is king :)

PS - I played Half Life 2 all the way through on the PC and loved it. Got the Orange Box on the 360 last week, and I am nearing the end of Episode 2! Hooked all over again! Half Life is the best franchise out there.
Lotus Elise 111R - Chrome Orange, can't drive it for sh*t spec!

Stop it, i'm trying to SAVE money, not buy more games

My new theroy is to buy games and put a good few hours into them. I tend to buy games and barely play them (if indeed I EVER play them  )

I know the feeling, I think its called "getting old" - I have lots of games which I have started but am no where near finishing. Take Gears of War - brill game, I am about 3 levels in and can't be bothered with it anymore.

As most of you will know, there doesn't seem to be any in stock anywhere.

Any pearls of wisdom of the best way of getting hold one... other than paying over the odds on Ebay!

Any advice appreciated.

Chris
You need luck & good timing.

My sis-in-law happened to be in Tesco at Customer Services and asked if they were due to get any in - woman went & checked, they'd just got 6.

I'll have 2 then she says - so my kids (ahem) are gonna have fun this Xmas

Oh, and the missus bought Mario Galaxy cos it's meant to be ace - so the above posts are enlightening
