Pistonheads will withdraw immediately it is reported as a suspected scam. They are quite hot on this. I reported one to them about an Audi Q7 for £27k a few months ago, and they responded to me immediately and took it off. They said this problem was growing for them, especially as it is a free advertising media.
Usual one is a car advertised too cheaply to attract a punter, the seller says he has taken the car abroad due to work, asks for the money to be given over to a third party whilst the car is "shipped" back to the UK to the punter. The third party is obviously an associate.
Anybody daft enough to enter into this sort of scam, must need their head looked at, however there is one born every minute as they say.
You will no doubt find that the photos etc of the car have been taken off a previous genuine ad.

Would be fun to go along with the scams to waste the scamers time. Then when they ask for the cash tell them you're not interested anymore. Might make them not bother anymore.
I use to get alot of time wasting phone calls from call centres asking if I wanted a conservatories etc. I use to get them to go through all there cr*p, right to the point where they want to sent out someone to measure up then ask how they plan to fit a conservatorie to a 3rd floor flat

They hang up soon after that and stop calling all together

...result! Waste my time and I'll waste yours.

Have tried that but with a first floor flat. I find the best method is tell them that they have interupted a really good porn film and it was just getting to the good bit. they hang up and don't call back
