Not bothered either way, as I do not play golf, and do not go into Aberdeen during rush hour. Not sure what would happen regarding traffic past the place if it had been built.

I do know that when I came back from KH, Aberdeen were playing at home and it took me 45 mins to travel 1 mile, and that I would have happily nuked the f***ing lot of them, that is if Aberdeen FC even warranted a quick death.

I just want them to get the bloody by-pass built so that I miss Aberdeen when going to KH or down South.

I was a fence sitter on this one for a while, but thought about the benefits, so was in favour.

What the decision has given us is a true picture of how nasty things can get and how the deveopment would have been run, but kinda sad because of all the negative press Aberdeen is now going to get (even though it was Aberdeen-sh*t council).

the whole thing is so narrow minded its unbelievable!

for starters they would have had to upgrade our crappy airport and improve the rail links or no one would come. folk would go to the distilleries and runs up to aboyne, ballater, inverness....all over especially the yanks as they would love it. we've missed out on the 'energy centre of excellance' and thats off to teeside. an Olympic training centre and god knows what else. This is just another loss to the N.E

in 25+yrs time when the oil runs dry and we wished we had something like....erm.....a big golf course perhaps? to keep loads of folk employed and bringing loads of wealthy buisnessmens/womens money in to the area, we'll be able to sit at the bleak dogging car-parks in Balmedie and admire those sand dunes some folk were so concerned about.
ye im sure itl be worth it in the long run

God knows what will happen to the new Aberdeen Bypass (if it goes ahead) wasnt one of the proposed routes meant to end at Black Dog to tie-in with this golf course proposal?

i dunno just my thoughts

didnt like Trump.
dont think its a good idea to kill the sand dunes.
think they should have worked with him to compromise and get the feature built.

It will probably end up going ahead and will be beneficial to the area as a whole.

I don't know too much about it but from what I've read the council weren't impressed by Trump's lack of willingness to compromise. It was his way or no way. I think it's an admirable stance - many places would have caved in.

Many people are saying that it sends out the wrong message about development in the North East but maybe it's sending out a far more positive message.

hmm i guess...but if only the council had more of a back bone when it came to deciding about the following:
carbon reinjection project,
olympic training pool,
energy center of excellence
and all the rest of the nice things they couldnt push hard enough for

Alas local goverment is full of people with no qualifications for the job but have good political party connections, all there to ride the gravy train. up until the last election if a monkey went up for election with a certain colour of roset on it would win and frequently did ;) (in kilmarnock anyway) and don't get me started on council middle management and coucil workers I know some and the stories I could tell ;)

Interesting development on this....

seems like feckless twats have been overridden by the grown ups in edinburgh.

Unfortunately as per usual the council have gotten it totally wrong. Now, Instead of the council calling the shots on the development, Trump will ride them the whole way knowing that they'll be sh*t it in case they are brought to task again.

oh well..hey ho...who's up for a teuchter disney....

I have also heard that Trump's is struggling to find backers (not that I thought he would need any) for the project in Aberdeen - shire and is looking for an excuse to get out.

None of the above is true of course and it has not come from someone in the know

You don't expect him to be using his own money..... :P

I heard he was being backed by a local who recently had a large insurance pay out
