Andy, to be fair, the weathers been getting me down but you buying a dafter car in form of the Atom gave me some inspiration to keep the 7....which I was out in this morning...in the pissing rain...as always.

Just teasing you mate! Left the keys for my Merc in a club at the weekend and had to use the Atom to go to the gym at 6am on Monday morning - know where you are coming from, but then as Thinforth says there is something tremendous about using such a silly car in such silly weather! Liberating almost!
With you on the 135r comment totally - especially if you then make it Iddon spec

or stick a H in?

I don't think that's true myself

Are you calling the 340R an elise - if so I agree, if not I disagree.
of course you could split hairs and say the 190's were better but then they weren't so much a dealer product, more a batch of "one offs"

I typed a load of p#sh about how great the 135R(S1 and S2) is/are and lost it in transmission
Needless to say I'm with G.
One of the purest interpretations of the Chapman ethos apart from a standard S1.
if evolution don't take care of it, redesign it

Ah - don't confuse the 135 with the 135R.
The aftermarket 135 lotus "kit" was pretty good at munching gaskets the 135R package wasn't afflicted any worse than a normal elise.

Not sure that is right - I have heard that quite a few of the 135Rs went pop at low miles too. It does seem to be pot luck though. I had no problems with my 135 (non R), and Steve Weegie on here has now racked up big miles in it with the head gasket intact.
I think the 135R is probably the best K series Elise to come out of the factory, and the car in the ad looks a superb buy, but for me a new Elise SC with sport suspension and sticky tyres (both available as a factory option) would be the ultimate factory Elise, albeit at a price.

Yup, 65k on it now & nothing to change except a set of HT leads and service items. It's driven every day and, I wouldnt swap the car for any other elise!
Arriving broadside, in a cloud of smoke......

Couldn't face that bill for an Elise
Shame they don't offer an ecu upgrade to 270 - that would be worth having - and the Exige's PPS pack - shame also they don't want to make a stripped out version.
