Guys,

I'm still getting some members with problems with the flesh pics. I'm not gonna come up with some mass censorship decree (as I think it's daft and some of the other mods would take issue with it anyway) but I'll ask nicely if you wouldn't mind remembering that both sexes view this forum.

If you want to sit a semi-naked lass on your avatar, that's your call, but you are going to limit the use some members can have - people are still taking heat from female co-workers. I don't think that's fair on them, but like I say, I'm not telling anyone one way or the other, as long as the images don't flag up warnings.

Don't have a go about moderation either - I'm simply asking if you wouldn't mind making some members lives a bit easier, that's all.

The pics were only in jest for Gregs sake, not like we all have pics of t*ts and phannies! I removed mine after the joke wore off but to be perfectly honest as Tut and others have pointed out...you/we/I should not be on the internet at work.

If your work has banned certain content, there's no guarantee it won't be shown on SE (or seloc or any other forum). So the only way to be certain of avoiding it is don't use it at work or accept the consequences.

How completely obtuse and un-inclusive, but not exactly unsurprising.

Some of us - i.e. me at present, have no internet access at home. If there's to be a load of t!ts on show, I won't be able to view the forum, simple as that. If you're turned on by people's avatars, go and look at some p0rn. If you're thinking about harping on about free speach, would you like some fascist rants, or some racist/sexist abuse in my signature?

Edited to add - and yes there is a guarantee on seloc, its caller a censor and 'stealth mode'.

It looks like there's an option to disable showing avatars and signatures:
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &p=3115421
Is this possible with this version of phpbb? It would be useful for those who are accessing at work or on mobiles

So basically because of your personal circumstances you want SE to change how it's been run for the last 2 and a half years?

Sanjoy gave you a solution, why don't you just use that?

I dont have tnternet at home so i view at work also, two other senior members of staff share my office and one just clocked a picture expessing that "its not suitable". The systems manager has just mailed me - and I've been redcarded for 'misuse'

Its a laugh I know but its got me bombed off this site till i can access it again when either the restriction is lifted, the avatars change or when im allowed; view at 8am before anyone else is in the office :(

majorly pissed off faction.

Happened as of Monday.. Came in early, lap top on and scottish elises blocked!! Was not happy
Mine got blocked at work 2 weeks ago.... what am I going to do now for 10.5 hours a day????

IIRC, the forum's never been a flesh-fest. Unless you can remember otherwise of course. How selfish of me to hope that I can view the forum without offensive images on it, and well done to you mr 'man of the community'.

Must admit the thought of having the site blocked when I am away offshore ..... That would piss me off ne end. So I have to come down in favour of reducing the smutfest a bit

The content of SE is no worse than it ever has been. In fact John, as you know, I had to delete an image posted by yourself recently because it overstepped the mark. There is a line, everyone knows what it is and if your company decides to block the site because the SE limit is different from theirs then that's that.

We (shug and I) decided right at the start of SE2 to limit the moderation and allow SE to thrive and it has done so with very few problems. It's been like that for almost 3 years now and nobody's complained until the other day. I have no idea what caused that, nothing specific has actually been mentioned to me and if there was anything offensive it would've been removed.

Sanjoy has posted a solution to the problem. Images can be blocked in IE and Firefox so if it's a problem, change your settings.
