Well chaps - we shouldn't be too quick to judge.

Didn't reckon the R8 would be a serious 911 challenger in the first place - they might just suprise again?

Still wonder what the likely cost will be? Could be the first £100k+ diesel?

I saw a standard R8 in Perth today in White, with the waist band bit in dark grey, and boy did the car look stunning in the flesh!!!

looks tonnes better than the standard one...

especially the front end - being lower 8)

however, diesel - no thanks...

(doesn't mean to say I wouldn't turn one down :wink: if offered)

I'm with Fergus here. Motorsport gave us the Golf Gti Tdi PD 150, surely one of the most successful diesel engines of all time. It's in all sorts of sporty models, yet returns mpg to make you smile! Saw them rallying a development Tdi 150 at Duns in 1999 just after I got the Elise.
