Sure-fire way of getting the fuel consumption into single figures - best/worst I ever saw was 5.5mpg

A mate of a mate bought an RS4 from a garage, Y plate, £20k.
Put it into Glasgow Audi for a "do whatever needs done" service, £4k

rossybee,
You are an absolute saviour. The next time my missus complains about the running costs of the Evo then I am going to re-direct her to this thread
Greg - know the Evo is not in the same "bracket" for luxury as the RS but if you are looking for a 5-up point to point vehicle then for the money there is not many cars that offer better value. Admitedly it does not have the prestige of the Audi but with the new one coming out March with a better interior then maybe something to consider.

You is welcome, dude
I sometimes now let slip how much certain things cost with the RS6, and she usually pipes up "How come I'm finding these things out now, hmmm?"

Another supposed weakness is the gearbox, and guess how much to replace?

That puts a fezza into the 'sensible' car list
Can you extend the warranty on RS4/6s like you can on Bimmers? Even if its a few k, it sounds like it'd pay dividends..

Hell yes.
I did exactly that when my car ran out of warranty at 3yrs old - plus this paid off in when it came to selling...
Now you've read stuff I've posted, I bet you'd rather buy one with a warranty, ja?
Cost IRO £1200 p.a. IIRC
