I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Re: Track day costs
I worked out on average, I was spending approx £700 per TD when I was tracking the 360. In comparison CR is cheap at a third of the price and just as much fun!
We all live to enjoy, so got to do TDs if we can afford them. I am sure most can, so long as they get their priorities right.
I don't have kids so this helps big time though.

Re: Track day costs
Well never done a track day but I think it should be all worth it. End of the day how much does the average person spend on a night out in town. I know when I used to go out every weekend rarely did I spend less than £60 to feel like a bag of sh*t in morning and piss it up against a wall. One night out a week would equate to near your £250 mark plus the money you save at the winter when I guess the track days become scarce.
In essenance if thats your hobby, passtime, idea of fun then great, your not spoling your health and doing something which is fun and enjoyable a brilliant wee pass time. I guess you spend roughly same as joe bloggs who likes going out on the lash most weekends? Some people just would rather spend money have a bit of fun blasting the car round track which IMO is money better spent that booze and a lot more fun without the drawbacks waking up the next day feelings like crap, wondering who the hell is next to you and where you are!

Concur with the £250 extimates, we had a similar thread on TRS a while back.

Based on an SIDC day at Knockhill
Track fee = £100
Petrol = £50 (at least depends on travel distance and how mad you go on track, could potentially be double that if you're Donald)
Brake pads, I was changing mine every six months at say a trackday per month probably equates to £30 per day in pads.
Discs. Fitted Ali-belled grooved discs at £500 which should be good for 2 years at best. So say £25 per day min.
Tyres, ok I will be extremely expensive using semi slick soft track tyre but currently changing every 3 months I think at £600 a go. Probably works out about £50 per day when you take out road use etc.
Oil= £5
Food and drink = £5
So if my counting on fingers is correct that's £265![]()
If you start going down south for trackdays you can double that. I spent nearly a grand one weekend, I am sure Donalds 'Ring trips will also be in that region.
I really shouldn't have worked that out......
