Nice one Frank. :thumbsup

There's a few of us heading over on the Newcastle to Ijmuiden (Holland) ferry. It's cheaper if you share a cabin with someone. We're paying around £225 but on your own will be more like £300. Still pretty cheap though. 8)

Leaving Newcastle on the 23rd August and returning on the 1st September (into Newcastle on the 2nd). :D

Frank, Stewart, great to have you along :welcome You are in for a serious treat by the looks of the tracks. I have done Dijon, its great. The other two look even better.

You dont need to make the decision right away, but depending on time/money/car wear and tear/human body wear and tear you either want to head straight home after FF7, or go to the ring for a few days. Like i said, in past years, me and the car have just looked forward to getting home in one piece, and the extra days have been a bit of a grind. BUT......

...I have booked the eurotunnel, as i believe its quite flexible. That way, if i DO decide to go to the ring, i can delay the crossing, and find some accomodation somewhere when i arrive. Best of both worlds :D

Hey Big D,

Not sure yet, but will probably do the chunnel.

Neil, back in the day.. I used to live in Arles.. and did a couple of track days on Ledenon (I think its the same circuit).

It was a lot of fun even then.

Take care,

Frank

Epic effort guys!

I highly doubted anyone else wouldbe up for it, but when I say you are in for a treat, i really mean it!

With a 3 tracks in 4 days, i decided to fulfill another dream, which was do to the Ring. after the 3 LOT trackdays, we're leaving on the Friday and heading for Germany, and spending Saturday and Sunday at the Ring. Would be awesome if you wanted to join us for that.

We're then getting the ferry back on the monday :thumbsup

Top top effort :cheers

First hotel in Dijon is 49 euro a night one in Orange is 39 euro a night.

Still need to sort out a hotel for the ring.

I just hate driving through Englandshire and would prefer to drive in Europe. It's worse when returning as you know you have a massive journey to get home. Used to be the fuel was cheaper over there too although not so much now. Still no chance of point on the license though.

The ferry has the added advantage of banter and shandies too. :thumbsup They are also very flexible about changing return dates as I know folk have done it in the past with no problem. 8)

Now there's some words I'd never have thought would come from you, big jessy!
Come on Neil spending a day or so relaxing by the Nurburgring with the odd jolly round the North Loop, where's the grind in that?

Although if my car blows up before then I will probably be thinking the opposite.

Is this the same Mckean abusing me for not wanting to drive 2000 miles to Spain ? :damnfunny

I was shattered after last years epic, but that was with a second week of touring on top - this one is much shorter.

Frank - with you on the driving through Englandshire - simply hate it

Should add.

Spoke to Ali (SLS) to see if he fancied having a break and coming with on FF7.

He's currently toying with bringing the Van as our support vehicle, loaded with tools, press for wheel bearings, and spare parts. :thumbsup

Is this an annual kinda thing or... ?

I'd love to do one in the future as it sounds pretty epic, but no funds atm / i'd like to get more than 1 trackday under my belt first!

Yeah it happens every year (well it did last year anyway...). About 10 SEers went last year, and we're all going again with the exception of Tut :( . Stewart and Frank are going this year also. It really is epic... :thumbsup

As soon as the details of FF8 make it up it will be posted - The FF trip was certainly one of the first things I scheduled in this year, and its great that we have such a solid SE turnout on them :thumbsup
