Front one is 30mm. Rear is whatever Stu wants!

I'll go for 12mm then if that's OK as 2x rope should go through the loop OK

and Stu may wish to work to a similar size of 30mm plus for the rear eyes

Hi Richard

I was going to make it 40mm id with a 10 mm wall (60mm od)

Will be doing them in the morning,as I am aware time is an issue for the next trackday.

I am fitting 2 eyes,so thought about a rope to go between the 2 ,with a karabina on each end? Not sure what KH use to attach to the cars,I thought about 2m long would be good?

Ally ones sound fine to me,I would rather they broke, than bent the car.

OK, lets get this sorted:

Lawrence: Landrover  tow rope: 3m 12mm nylon 50/100mm eyes

Elise recovery: I'll make some up at 2m with 100mm eyes on each end. This will mean they are big enough to loop through themselves or be used with karabinas (Which I don't have) or be used on a single rear tow point and give a reasonable reach.

I'll have a hunt about, I would envisage the cost to be around £1/m maybe more for thicker rope or different materials. Splices take up around .5m

At the mo I have Ed and Stu, any more? The take around 20-30 mins, I'll crack on when I get soem more rope!

Rich,

I'll take two, please.

Was thinking about donating one to the recovery truck at Knockhill (if they remove the cones for us) - that way we know how the cars will be extricated.

Cheers

Indeed you have - it's in the trackday section, as it's main purpose in life is to drag elises from the kitty litter at trackdays,

I think the thread is Knockhill Trackdays or something similar, I started the thread which should help narrow it down a bit.

I have enough rope now for 2 sisal ones and 4 nylon ones. I couldn't find any 12mm Nylon only sisal (but then again I couldn't find the chandelry either!) Sorry Lawrence, but I'll keep looking though.

10mm Sisal (Hard hearing but will rot eventually if left wet) ~2m £3
10mm Nylon (Very soft and flexible but easy to snag) ~2m £4

The eyes are about 100mm diameter (They go over a pint glass) I would have thought P&P would be about £2

I'll happily donate one to KH. Get your preferences in...

Ed, Stu, Mac, Simon so far.

I got started on the eyes today, but dragged into something else, will finish some tomorrow, and post up some pics.I am not making them to strong,so should not damage the mounting.
