Never been to a rally before, though so possibly silly question coming up...

Where do I go... What do I need (ie money, wellies, camera? ;))

You should get most the info here

http://www.coltnesscarclub.co.uk/rally%20page.html

and you could read thru this

If its typical Scottish weather (which isnt always a bad thing for spectating) then just make sure you have got waterproofs for standing about all day. It can be quite a trek up into some of the stages, depending how much you want to see and how far past the crowds you want to go, so its worth bearing that in mind when choosing footwear.

Theres not usually much to spend money on, from my experience, except perhaps programmes. As it's a souvenir programme it could be well worth buying.

Other than that, just turn up and enjoy.

If I can get out of my bed/off the floor at Andys after the BBQ, I would be up for this.

Not sure if the 2-11 is car park (feild) friendly.

Thanks for that :)

I just realised the ccc website doesn't work in firefox. I was wondering why they seemed to have a nav bar that didn't have any actual links...

If you are up in Crieff by 9.30 you can come up with us in a nice, new field friendly twin turbo X5! Might even have a picnic on board..............

Tell you what I'll leave our two terrors at yours to enjoy the X5 experience and Lisa and me'll have a few hours off at the other end of a stage ;-)

I'm going up to the in-laws caravan in Kenmore after the AMP3 trackday, and will be viewing the Drummond Hill stage (back of Kenmore) on Saturday. I believe it's the 3rd stage of the day, so hopefully going to Rally HQ at the racecourse on Friday night to see the cars.

Will look out for Elsises etc scooting about ;)

It was a brilliant day, seeing all the old legends and old school cars.

It was crazy busy and only managed one stage.

Posted a heap of videos on You Tube (under "McRae Stages 2008") if anyone fancies a look.

Cheers,

Stuart.

Has anyone got any photos of Jim McRae driving over a cliff halfway through Craigvinean? Mucho action with fire brigade, ambulance, emergency wagons etc. Stage was eventually canceled which was a shame cause only 20 cars got through. Apparantly McRae was unhurt and signing autographs etc, but car was wrecked. Member of the public saw the car going off the road, and phoned 999 which set the whole palava in motion!!!

Didn't see much about the rally in today's papers.
