Winner yes but a true Champion? I'll let you decide
While I reckon that Schumi is one of the best all time drivers, I think he has accumlated his 7 championships as a result of a combination of; talent, having a good car, being a 'thinking' racer, and being a dirty rotten cheat (given half a chance). He has pulled too many dirty moves over the years, its about time he had some punishment.
Shame Mclaren & Williams had reliability issues, as it was good to see a race on for the finish. Good result for DC though. It's a shame Renault can't build their road cars to be as reliable as the F1s.

Nah, don't think so. Have we forgot the early-career dirty tactics? To an extent, yes.Lawrence wrote:7 1/2 hours it took to see the truth
I guess now Shumacher will be remembered for this more than his 7 championships
sad
Look at Senna - IMHO the best (personal hero) But even I recognise that he was as dirty as sin sometimes.
Give it a few years following his retiral and all we'll remember is the devastating numbers and the race after race where he could simply run away and hide as he wished.
BTW, IMO it was a dumb move, but it's almost exactly the same as Jerez, when he tried to take out Villeneuve. He seems to do really thick things every now and again. Doesn't stop him being quantifiably the best we've seen in the last decade.
