Thats a Clakson-ism sin't it?

Can't see why a 'real car nut' would want to own a car that spends more than it's fair share of time in a state where it can't be driven

Ah clearly not a car nut then!

Is that not the point, you are supposed to forgive the flakey build quaility for the style, the driving experience.... true petrol headness.... or just pure stupidity; discuss:

Nope, obviously not! :D

You're right Dom, I think that is the whole point.

Or rather, it's supposed to be the point. These days, have you read a recent review that says any Alfa is better to drive than it's competitors? I haven't. True, the 159 looks gorgeous but it's the only current Alfa that looks good (MiTo? Decidedly meh).
They don't even sound good anymore.

So if you drive a (current) Alfa you're not a true petrol head, rather you are a posuer who prefers style over driving pleasure (and build quality for that matter  )

Of course if you're talking about Alfas back in the 70's and 80's then most of what I've just said is pish as I believe they were good to drive as well as being beautiful?

nae a fan of the front of the Mito but like the rear.

the 159 is a good looking car, the GT coupe is nice, the Brera is 'ok', when I see it I just remember the concept version which was SO much better, less overhang at the nose, better proportion in the tail.

The 8C of course, is just fabulous.

8C is an exception of course.

Brera- not sure. From some angles it looks fantastic, from others it looks like it's got a huge arse and massive front overhang. GT getting a bit dated IMO, not bad looking but not good enough looking to make looks the reason I'd choose it over a car which was quicker/had better handling/better interior/better residuals.
