Hi Tut, thanks for the nice comments, my Elise sold the first week it went onto Pistonheads  , unbelievable response to the advert too so its still a sellers market, the new owner is on here and stays in your neck of the woods, he posted to ask about alloy refurbishment in Abz recently.

I think you will need to move fast to get a cheap Elise, anything around the 7- 7500 mark thats decent is gone within a week or less  from looking at Pistonheads

Good luck with the search, you wont regret it, i only sold mine through sheer lack of use but wouldnt hesitate to have another...im hoping to get an Exige next though :P

I saw that you had change your advert to read B&C140 Donna, so pleased to see that you had so much interest.

Yeah, that doc was really interesting and will be the first page in my buying references, thankyou. I'd love a look round your car. I'll PM You.

Mr.P, yeah national is a an option, I've got a Lotus freak friend in London that would probably do a primary inspection for me if I asked nicely (read lots of beer). I see there are a lot in Yorkshire which is very reachable. Although I now need to sort out a buying buddy, or borrow a car so I can get down. The only issue with selling your car first. Doh..
I and I am sure several peeps on here are on hand for ferry services around the country...

I think you're right Donna, all the cheap stuff disappears in a flash. I'm working on improving my budget to give me more options.

Cheers

I think most of the 'cheap' stuff is realistic rather than cheap.

No mate, do you? - I probably wouldn't have sold it if I thought it was going to be passed around like an old p0rn mag.

To pick up on Campbell's point

"S1s are really only getting rarer. They built a few thousand over the 5-year lifespan, compared to surely 10s of thousands of S2s in their now 8 year lifespan?"

Does anyone know with any degree of accuracy as to how many S1's were actually produced. S1's, 111S, 135's, 160's etc.

This is a current one in the trader that ticks all my boxes! I'ts exactly what I had in mind. Only issue is that it's in Brighton. DOh

titanium beauty

I also like the look of this, and it's considerably closer in Newcastle.

Shiny Silver

I'm wondering about organising a long trip to brighton, starting there and then viewing as I come up the country. There's a chance I could fly down relatively cheaply. I have to say most of my experience going long distance for cars has not been too good. I'm going to keep the faith this time though so I can find a car that I'll keep for a long time.
