Thanks for the comments guys. Mark,I will contact the company to see if the system works for de-catted pipe too. :cheers

I knew there'd be mixed views regarding the frog. It's not exactly the most popular style of cars :damnfunny It's either you love or hate sort of car :blackeye I know the car looks like a F&F type but it has all the mods for tracking in mind (aluminium wishbones, engine dumpers, adjustable coilovers, track body kit, braces & struts, light weight race wheels, removed air pump etc).

I am hoping it will give me much fun when set up right.

Dom, I have no idea how easy it will be to drift as the boost comes in strong and cuts out as soon as you are off the gas. I think it has the BOV to keep the turbo spinning so this may help. Will see

Andy, a border run will be good but I only got 4 points left so not sure if it's a good idea :damnfunny :damnfunny :damnfunny

Mass! Disappointed that it's not a green frog

The rx7 is a nice car, there was a standard looking black UK model in a driveway near me for years, real shame that it had gone to waste. I must admit, I do like the Japanese tuner look on some cars, and that one suits (apart from the lights imo, but then I'm a huge pop up fan!)

I'm sure it'll make a completely different track toy to your current pair especially with major forced induction and indicators on the wrong side ;)

Interesting choice mass, the sound of these is incredible esp with a turbo that size

as for the exhaust could you not get a bung to fit into the silencer, I had one for my evo which silenced it considerably

Always liked RX7's but never sure on engine strength. Car looks great Mass. Hydraulic handbrake would be handy if you plan on drifting. :thumbsup

Like Mark I imagine there'll be and 'RX7 tax' like the 'Skyline tax' when you want any parts or to get it fixed. :?

The only real way to quiet'n an exhaust is a bigger silencer or restrict the diameter (which obviously you won't want to do). I put a 3" bung in my end pipe and it definately made a difference but no restriction as it is 3" anyway. The tailpipe is 5" so just reduced it to 3" and it seems to work. There are pleny of companies who will make up silencers for you if it's that bad. Although your screamer pipes will be unsilenced so will stuglle on drive by tests. Again you can get them silenced too. :thumbsup

Guys, thank you for your inputs :thumbsup

The police noise tested the car. It read 99.8 db at idle and 105 db at 3000 rpm. The sound is very deep so it may sounds louder that it really is. In any case, the unmarked police spotted me in no time. I really could do without the hassle of being stopped. The pipe looks to be about 4 to 5 inch thick from the engine all the way to the rear silencer with approx 6in opening (no cat or mid silencer).

Do you know where I can get the bung?
