Stuart
You will often get many genuine buyers from Europe as they are short of cars over there, and the pound is crap against the Euro. They are easy to spot as opposed to the scammers, you can recognise them in the first few words of their pathetic posts.
A genuine buyer is pretty easy to spot, you will speak by phone as well as e-mail, and he will want lots of details about your car. You will then agree a method of payment which means you have the funds guaranteed before he gets the car.

Stuart,
Yes, there are genuine European buyers out there.
I've just sold my 348 to a guy from Germany. Personal cheque for the deposit and balance of funds sent straight to my bank account before the car is released.
Good luck with yours

Gents,
Thanks for your advice in all of this. I didn't reply to the mail and have heard nothing since.
The car is now sold to a lady from Argyll and Bute (I'm not sure if that can be classed as a genuine european buyer) and I'm just waiting for the funds to be sent (Money order from Lloyds bank). The hand over should be next week.
I can feel a tear already.
Stuart.

Keith,
Worry not, this is not a long term decision. We're doing some work at the house at the moment and funds are required. I'll give it a wee while then have another look to see whats about.
