Sorry just a quick report.

I did a test day on Friday, I haven’t had enough time in the seat this year so I was very rusty in the morning, I was happier with my times towards the end of the day and managed to get within 0.4 of Jamie Stanleys lap times. I did a 16.4.

Practice on Saturday I scrubbed in a new set of Brake pads and had a couple of good laps.

Qually was going well I managed to get past Jon Walker (he had a slow puncture) but Gav left me standing (more on that to follow) I then start to catch up on back markers. I end up following a fellow 2-11 who has better straight line speed, but I’m all over him in the corners. I decide to go round the outside of him at Corium (2nd last corner) as I want to get one more lap in, just as I’m level he moves over (100mph) and I have to take to the grass. I ended up 5th, but Mark Gooday got bumped 4 places from 2nd as he had go off the track on the second corner. We had been warned in the briefing not to overshoot the corner and keep 2 wheels on the track. I was 0.4 off of 2nd in 4th with Gav a couple of seconds ahead on pole.

Race 1 is a GP start. I’m feeling confident about the start as both Gav and John walker have problems off the line as they have very long 1st gears. Right enough I go round Jon and get level with gav only for him to pull away and then block me, this leaves the door open for a car to go up the inside. Gave brakes really early for the first corner and I almost hit him. I then decide to go round the outside, BANG, wtf Gav gets hit by the car on the inside up the rear. I hold my nerve on the outside , still sitting in second place. Onto the back straight Gav just pulls away from me, He brakes early again , I get a run on him coming out of the bomb hole and dive up the inside coming into Corium, BANG gave didn’t see me and drives right into the side of me. I hold my line and come into the chicane in the lead. Out of the chicane onto the start finish line and gav drives past me line I’m standing still. I catch him under braking again but I now have Jon and Tom right on my tail. I’m not making excuses but out of all the cars in the top 10 my car is far the slowest. Most of them can drive round me down the back straight, so if I make any mistakes I’m going backwards. I make a mistake going into corium and Jon walker takes me on the inside. I then have Mark Gooday giving me a hard time. I manage to hold him off for a few laps with some blocking and late braking. I miss a gear coming out onto the start finish straight and he’s past, I try my hardest to keep with him, i even get dropped in his slipstream going down the back straight. . I finish 4th, drove the socks off the car but made 2 mistakes, which cost me a podium.

Nice one Scotty! 4th not to be sniffed at (still thinking about the first photo),... anyway, 4th not to be sniffed at (unless there were only four in the race?) :thumbsup

How's the car after the knocks it took?
