David - IIRC the R500 is factory build only.

This was the case with the K series R3/4/500 range.

One or two of the early-adopter R500 Duratec owners managed to get theirs as kits. I don't know if this has changed as IVA testing has become more tricky with the R500.

I had the option of an R500 as kit build so it must still be available.

Yes, the early R500 were a bit bespoke so I think Caterham were reluctant to make them kits but if the customer wants . . . . . then the customer gets.
