The BBC F1 team, looked at as an overall package, is in my view, excellent. Better than I can ever remember over 20 years or so of watching F1. Isn't this one of the reasons we were recently lamenting the loss of coverage to Sky next season?

Jake is a very smooth and unruffled anchor man, seems to have done his homework to get to understand the sport well enough to lead the presenting team, and has great multi-tasking skills to deal with fullly live-to-air demands that come with such a role. Not easy.

EJ knows his onions as a former team boss and you need an outspoken character to liven things up, who knows the questions to ask, or can see behind the veneers and bluster etc.

DC likewise from former driver point of view. He is also a slick presenter and this probably relates to his opportunity to take up commentary.

MB is maybe a blend of the two...prepared to be controversial (within limits) and very slick at presenting and punditry. Also brave enough to put his POV with great authority.

Ted and Lee do great legwork in the paddock and pit lane (and always nice to have a pretty face involved too...Lee, that is). And the bloggers like Andrew Benson are also good to read.

No package will ever be perfect, but if you have reservations now, you might be in for much greater disappointment next season I'm afraid.

Have to agree with Campbell - who knows what we will be in for in the future, a shame when they are overall a rounded 'cover all' commentary team .
I was actually more annoyed this weekend by Ted who seemed to be constantly rambling on when there were things happening that deserved commentary - I guess it was unfortunate timing but it did have me cursing at the telly for him to shut the fcuk up.

Campbell says it all for me.

What was Lee doing when she was interviewing Di Resta on his way to the grid - was she flirting massively with him with her leathers on

EJ speaks his mind - whether you like him or not, he doesnt skirt the issues.

I'm not a big fan, but, he gets paid to go and do it - i watch it from home in my own time, then decide to post on a forum about it.
