Mines booked in for a B service and cam belt in a couple of weeks. Good to hear more positive reports from Judes. Looking forward to the trip and to meeting the guys there.

Any informed used buyer would know that a car is far more likely to have been well maintained by a good independent specialist like Jude or Sinclairs or Lakeside rather than a main stealer. If I was buying a used Exige I would far rather see a bunch on Jude stamps in the book than MMC. Only ever heard good things about Jude, whereas I can think out countless people who have been hacked off with the quality of MMC servicing over the years.

Also with the number of vids / photos of your car being humped all over KH it is now known as "The Ringer".

I've got mine booked in to Dan's in a few weeks for B service, belt, and to look at a couple of probs.

Aside from the extra cost of going to e.g. MMC, these independant specialists generally have a better knowledge of the car, and are usually inspired by a genuine interest in that type of vehicle, whereas at a franchised gaff, whilst you might get good guys, there's also a chance you'll get someone who would just as (un)happily be doing the same work on a Vauxhall Astra.
I found it previously with my Alfa, after I ditched the franchised shops, and went with a local specialist.

There's no guarantees wherever you go, but whenever it comes to choosing a tradesman, builder, etc, the advice always given is to go with personal recommendations - there's plenty of them on here for Jude's.

Scott.

Another thought - my old man's a coach builder/panel beater by trade, but he has absolutley no interest in doing it for a hobby - he does it cos it's his job. There's bound to be plenty of mechanics with the same attitude (not that I'm saying he would do a dodgy job, mind, but you get the idea.)

100% correct on that, I know a mechanic who works on Scoobies, Evo's and Skylines (imports  ) every day, but has no 'interest' in cars and rarely drives one when away from work.

At least with Dan you know he likes cars

The mileage doesn't affect it that badly. 17,600 miles of fun my friend. Could have lost 10k and done 2000 miles!

Not long back from a trip down to Newcastle and a service at Judeperformance. Run down and back was excellent in glorious September sunshine so took full advantage and took in a few local roads with a mate who lives down that way.

Thanks to Dan for tip top service, always nice to have your car serviced by someone who is as enthusiastic about the car as you are, give you plenty of confidence in the quality of work.

ps, good to hear that my car, or rather the signs of my late braking and molten tyre rubber marks all over the paintwork (need to clean that) have your approval :D

I will be heading down to Jude at some point in the next few weeks, anyone need a lift for a pick up?

I still have to phone him to see when he can fit me in. I dont know if I will be leaving my car there yet or not, will find out what suits him best.

Ed, just spoke to Dan. Would you be able to give me a run back up to Edinburgh area on the Sunday?

I take it you are staying down there on the Saturday night after your day running about chasing sweaty men.... :o
