There are a few member on here without elise that would love an elise. Get one of them on board and have them involved right through the restore.. Youve got the spanner & sponges days as well where we could all help out.
Cat D.... so what, that doesnt efect the lap times at Knockhill.

It's not going to cost 2k to fix!
Source a 2nd hand rear clam (junks from SELOC offered me one for £350 and get the front repaired, both clams painted and the sills (no damage, just the usual stone chips) and the car will be mint. The front damage is almost hidden by the reg plate!
Yes, it is catD and will be for the rest of its life but Simon is about right, '99 111s are about 10-11ishk for a non crashed example and catd's fetch about 70% of their value so figure a 1k repair would make it worth about 7-8k.
It's a good quick car and has served me well for the last 4 yrs and 33k miles, only one previous football player owner that never used it. I've bought my Exige now and unfortunately can't afford to keep this (or I would) so I'd prefer to see someone else get the use of it, plus making a few extra pennies would help numb the pain of receiving such a sh*t payout from the insurance company, not to mention losing my no-claims

Don't want to go against the tide of opinion but... that cars got clam damage an that's it! Otherwise it's a mint S1 111s + some v. impressive mods, it's been very well looked after by someone who knows what he's doing. I know Steve and the car well and it's potentially much more than a beginners Elise and possibly too nice for a track car imho.
It might be a beginners price but it's more like an ideal Elise for someone to upgrade to without loosing any money! In fact I guess with a 9-10k basic-ish S1 you could even save money and have a better car albeit with the Cat-D tag
(tho Rich is saying that's possible to remove anyways!?!). I imagine that involves just a chassis check? I just got my chassis checked and have the instructions and measurements so any garage with laser alignment could probably do it for much less than a geo as you only have 4 points to measure.
If I was even half way thro paying for my car I'd really consider it (if it was green or yellow
)

well if nobody else takes it I almost certainly will (?) I'm looking to buy a flat soon and should really shift my S2
but for the price I could to do both and be a very happy chap, could even learn some stuff by swapping the clams meself. (with the help of all my mechanic pals)
