And if you fancy a drink then the Grill on Union Street is legendary (if you like a dram)

Oops forgot about moonfish :thumbsup

Decided to book at table at Rendezvous at Nargile, the large veggie selection should keep Mrs FS more than happy.

A few drams at The Grill afterwards sounds like a plan :thumbsup

Really looking forward to this, I haven't had a night out in Aberdeen since 2004!

Are you driving?

If not, I think there's a clever bus between the beach and quite close to Nargile (it's a long and quite uninteresting walk).

Let me know and I can figure out the number, where to get on / off and how much change to have in your pooch.

Cheers,

Eric :)

Rustico seems to be getting a lot of praise here, it's that good?

Anyone been to both (Rustico and Nargile) who can comment from a vegetarian point of view?

I've never been to Nargile but you can only get a table at rustico on a thurs, Fri or sat night if you book well in advance, and its not a small place either-it's massive. Also, Italians go there to eat, so must be good!

Gary (Hendeg) will probably give you a better idea for veggies as Im sure he and Pauline will have been to both. :thumbsup

I wouldn't change my reservation if I were you, but somewhere to go next time you are up in this fabby city! :D

Rusticos and Nargile are completely different. Both worth visiting though.

Rusticos is very good value for money. Tasty food, but nothing exciting. Saying that, it's my parents favourite place to go in Aberdeen, so maybe I missed something! :thumbsup

Nargile is a more special experience. There was 6 of us there and we ordered a banquet and it was superb!

We're both veggies and would recommend Nargile. The food is really good from a veggie perspective. It's smaller and a bit more sophisticated than Rustico but it's also a little bit from the centre so you'll need a taxi unless you follow Kiltie's guide to Aberdeen buses.

We do like Rustico as well though. I don't think you'd go wrong with either.

Where to eat in Aberdeen

We ended up eating at Yatai Izakaya last night. It's a Japanese restaurant in Langstane Place.
Food and service were all superb. The waiter was excellent and took great care to ensure that the vegetarian options were all known to us.
We've been dying to get back to Japan for a holiday so this was as close as we'll get this year.
Highly Recommended.

Also popped in to the grill for a dram on the way past.
That's quite a pub!

Thanks again for the recommendations, dinner at Nargile was superb, really enjoyed it.
Aberdeen is even more lively at the weekend than I remember, looking forward to my next visit.
