Gp bikes are 4 strokes now....

1000cc V4 and the GP version chucks out around the 250bhp mark.... Would be safe to assume that the road version would be around the 200bhp bracket or higher... Mentalist

Yep - the 748/916/996/998 are absolutely fantastic looking bikes, kind of automotive art that you could have in your living room and drool over.

If you look at one from the top it is supposed to emulate the curves of the female form (and a slender one at that).

It goes to show that it is such an iconic bike as the Elise designers (forgotten their names) but both had 916's and brought the design philosophy into the Elise - according to the Elise story on VHS.

Cheers

Onc saw a tv program about a New Yorker who had put a 916 in a glass box to display in the middle of his loft apartment.

I'm an ex-biker too, I got rid of the CBR when Suzy was pregnant but at 6'4" there is no way I could ride a 916 (or personal favourite the 748) for more than about a yard.

I see nothing wrong with buying one as a piece of art. (I don't even need to start it - I know this is wrong but I jhave always preferred the sound of a high revving 4 pot to the deep rumble of a Ducati).

I'll have mine in yellow please.

Neil, do you mean trails/motocross as I have never seen a 500cc trials bike? I just did 2 trials comps at the w/end down at Fintry, my fave 2 sections were a scary 15ft waterfall to get up and a seriously steep 75ft hillclimb  Excellent fun and the main reason for my Exige lying in the garage gathering dust lately.
Back to the Ducati , I also prefer the original 916 shape (yellow please).
