Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

Im planning on the same use as you and so far I'm about 400 miles in and I'm loving it.

For me the must have were sport pack and the +2 but after advice from Brandon I relaxed my criteria and was more interested in getting the right car. Albeit I then bought one that was my exact ideal spec!

I'm in the southside of Glasgow if you want a look at it.

EDIT : If you're interested mine is +2, sport, tech, xenons, long box and standard exhaust. So you'll see even within SE we have enough variations to make sure you make the right decision!
Black VX220 with black wheels? Saw it in the car park yesterday. I think the long-ratio gearbox might be a must-have for me as I do quite a few long motorway trips.

It was myself in the waiting area of Murrys today. One for the "thanks Murrys thread". Car sorted at very short notice.

Have you read Justins Evora story on Pistonheads, its a good read . http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topi ... +Long+Read! Also loads of info on seloc techwiki.

Have had my Evora S since the start of May and covered 2700 miles. Cannot comment on the second hand market other than I could not find the spec I wanted. Took me about 150 miles to really understand what the car was about and have not looked back, its just right. Have a second car but find myself using the Evora most of the time. Recently did my first long drive down south and was surprised by just how comfortabe the car was. The ride is very, very good. Got 32mpg on the way down but no where near on the way back up. Plan was drive until I got uncomfortable or tired and it just didn't happen.

As said above Sports pack is a must. The back seats are not really practical other than for kids but I think they are a good thing to have come resale and can be used in a emergency. If you test drive a earlier car and the gear change is not so good you can get updated gear linkages fitted, worth checking/asking for.

Met an ex Lotus engineer who had changed his Evora S for a NA Sports Racer Evora for the better fuel consumption. He has covered over 45k miles and was loving his car . Must confess the NA exhaust sounded better than mine but it does not have the supercharger whine.

Anyway "just buy one". :-)

Alan
Small world - nice to meet you! Car looks lovely. I had seen that thread, spent a fair bit of time reading the PH Lotus forum before Craig suggested I have a look here. I had a Cooper S years ago, loved the supercharger whine!

Nah I sold mine in January to one of the guys on here. He's looking after it though. Honest.

I have to say the car was absolutely stunning and has supercar presence. I've never been that keen on the evora but hadn't seen many in the flesh. It got me thinking about my recent decision to get another exige. I think for me it would need to be supercharged through which would probably stretch the budget a bit. I'm assuming the red one I seen was newer and supercharged. It sounded awesome too. Really nice car.
Hi Jamie, that's was me linking up with a few of the guys to go on the Rev Limits run down to Dalveen Pass. Stopped off for a quick coffee before the run.

My Evora is a MY13 Evora Sport Racers hence the black and red combo. The car has a 2bular decat manifold, sport cat and 2bular catback.

To chime in on the discussion, I've had my Evora 16 months and use it everyday, come rain, shine or snow and it still feels as awesome as the day I picked it up. In actual fact I've learned to appreciate it's abilities even more the longer I've had it.

I was told yesterday that from Tuesday I'll be based in Edinburgh not Greenock.... which means commuting by train and not car.

Is it wrong that my 1st thought was... oooooo, that means my mileage will be Evora friendly now..

Test drove an Evora with Brandon this morning - loved it! Much preferred it to the Cayman S I drove a couple of weeks ago.

The hunt is now on for the right car.

This one is pretty much my perfect spec. Undecided whether to give them a call or be patient and see what Brandon can find me...

MMC are always a good bet :thumbsup But Evoras are rare and tend to get snapped up really quickly so you need to be decisive or you'll loose out.

Kenny has his in Classifieds /Pistonheads though :

That particular car has been for sale for quite some time, certainly was on the market when I was looking for mine in January.

After only 5 months of ownership I unfortunately have to consider selling my Evora S after launching another company that will mean I am travelling all over the UK, and I am looking to purchase something that will lend itself to covering long distances in absolute comfort, maybe an S Class or similair.

Below is the spec received from Brandon at the time if interested.

Evora S Sports Racer Look

YJ61KCX
Aspen White Evora S 2+2
7400 miles (now approx 10500)
Tech Pack
Reversing Camera
Heated Seats
Body Coloured Door Handles
Sport Pack (Standard)
Sports Ratio Gearbox (Standard)
Gloss Black Contrast Painted Roof, Alloys, Under Door Arches, and Front Splitter
Yellow Painted Callipers
Xenon Headlamps
Decat Sports Exhaust

In addition I had 2 new rear tyres.

The car was registered October 2011, its 3 year warranty expires October 2014 so we supply 12 months in this case.

Service History:
Oct 2012 First Annual Service, including brake fluid, carried out by Murray Lotus
Nov 2013 Second Annual Service, including brake fluid, carried out by Murray Lotus, tyres are above 4.5mm on average and brakes had no advisory with plenty of use left.
All required service bulletins and software updates are all up to date.

Drop me a note if interested in photo's and/or test drive. I'm based in Dundee. Even if your not interested in this particular car happy for you to have a good drive in her.

Cheers Callum

Bit of a thread drift. Callum if your looking for a motorway muncher and don't mind looking like a sales rep, then grab a 335D.

So impressed with our tourer as really comfortable long distances, enough poke (313bhp) and great economy. Maybe not as comfortable as S class but a great cheaper alternative.

The Evora is a great mile muncher.
I'd keep it :-)

heads up to the OP

My Launch Edition carbon grey/red leather is going back to MMC - possibly this weekend. sorry to see it go :( ......have done just 3,500 miles in it since picking it up last August so now has 32,500 odd....just been for a week to Alsace in it. Lovely car....

but, in typically helpful and admirable MMC fashion, my new one on way  :thumbsup

Last motorway muncher I had was standing by the side of the road on Stelvio 2001 thumbing a lift.
