Just been to see them (detour home...hic)...they ain't standard rims, they're Oz Racing jobs ...look 8) and tyres are pretty good too.... my man says they fitted his S with only longer studs than standard and the 48's are fine on these....he's a friend of a friend, so assuming he's kosher...

Sound good. Those ae the wheels Si has on his S2 i think :?: :?:

Wade in mate, they are simply genial on track, and you'll have a lot more confidence through the twisties!

Just watch the white lines in the rain......last trip to Dukes pass was "interesting" in the pouring rain :wink:

Si, did you have to upgarde the suspension to cope with the extra force that the A048's put on the car??

I wouldn't bother with them if you're not tracking the car. If you want good road tyres, get a set of Yoko AD07s. At £400 a set they're much cheaper and they have 7mm to start with instead of the 5mm you get with 48s. If you are tracking it though, they are great but you probably will need to upgrade the suspension (cue Mac saying otherwise ;) ).

how much you getting them for? 48s need toe-links to be upgraded, that may be what Si means when he says 'suspension needs upgrading' - I would have thought the bilstein damping units of themselves would be able to cope

S2's don't need upgraded toelinks and the standard dampers are more than sufficient for them.

If you did want to upgrade something then you would get most benifit from a decent ARB.

I asked the guys from Motorsport as to why their bar was so much more expensive - their reply was,

"Well our's works - not to say that the others don't but ours was designed by someone who used to work on the lotus F1 cars and been tried and test on our own race track"

which was good enough for me :D

I know I haven't run mine on standard dampers but seeing as I scuff the wheels arches with stiffer springs (yes I know the car's a little lower now) I'd be wary of using the standard dampers with them.

Yup, the tyres are probably wasted on me, but just got 2 new fronts today and both my standard rims are buckled :roll: , so the new wheels will come in handy...

If I take the 48's off they will be looking for a good home :wink:

Btw Phil Collins tyre place in Johnstone were the business...phoned them at 6pm yesterday, he had tyres sourced in minutes and fitted by lunchtime today. Cheep too.

Simon they only scuff for the first few thousand miles - after that it rubs away all the plastic :D

2 things;

1. That's bloody cheap for OZs with 48s on so rip his arm off at that money.

2. If you corner hard on sticky tyres with standard shocks and springs you will ride on the bump stops and that's not good. :thumbsdown
