My mate had a tiny stainless steel flick switch in the carpet of his Sierra 4x4 (newish in early 80's). They were notoriously easy to get into and he woke up one morning to see his 50 yards down the road after it had been pushed off his drive and driven away - before it cut out as they hadn't found his hidden fuel switchdouglasgdmw wrote:Better system would be for the code to be activated so that the thief does not know your car is enabled.
Let them get a couple of miles away and then activate the code and the car is then grinds to a halt with an engine warning light. Gets them out of your house and avoids the immediate threat.

I'm with most people on here though, I'd rather loose the car than have lowlife looking for a phone (probably beside the bedside) to start it.
