Driveway - West Lothian

I am looking at about £1k (may be vat on that, depends on who they put on the job and may be + another £300 if they need another grade of hardcore) for the regrading where as Tarmac to the proper road spec was looking to be about £20-25k dependent on the width and edge spec.

Have they done your driveway yet? If not can you ask them whether they would consider coming across the water to do West Lothian (I am about 6 miles out of Edinburgh outskirts).

They haven't done it yet. Soon tho lol.

Geddes Group (http://www.geddesgroup.co.uk) are a big contractor and do civil engineering work all over the country so I doubt West Lothian would phase them. The reason my driveway is something that will happen, "soon, when they have the right folk to do it"... which I appreciate sounds a bit vague rather than businesslike, is because their HQ is pretty close to me, they own the neighbouring farm to me and I was at the wedding of Mr Geddes' son to the daughter of another neighbouring farmer so I think/hope I am getting a good neighbour/homer/mate rate by being flexible. I did give them a call last week just to remind them but they said not to worry... so I am not

Tut, the guy you need for tar is Gary mowat, he works for the roads dept but also has his own business, phone him on 01771637282, he's going to rothimay to price a job for a friend of mine soon, he has all the right equipment and does a good job.

I've also got a very good guy based in Fife, very well respected for driveways and patios and into his trucks and cars! He's actually coming to fit a new patio in the back garden next week.

Would appreciate the details if he does work in West Lothian as well. If its easier I can send him approx measurements and photos to make his life easier?
