The only disappointment with the Sky coverage is that they have ditched the "Ted's Notebook". To me that was one of the elements of the coverage that I really enjoyed due to the random nature of it. Seemingly Ted is now stuck to a mid week show which is in the UK.
I used to enjoy the notebook too, in fact a couple of seasons ago I found myself watching only qualifying, grid walk, race and notebook. The problem is, Ted is crazy biased, more so than Shouty Croft, to the point that he comes up with the most ridiculous theories on why something negative happened to Hamilton. At first it was funny, but as the season goes on, it sees me raging at the TV. Shouting at the completely idiotic crap that's being spouted. So I stopped watching. He'd then try to blame it on another team, or somehow manage to defend Merc doing something, whilst accusing another team of doing something else, which was obviously the same thing, but 1 is good, the other is bad.
Like, Lewis runs a car wide on a corner, causing it to leave the track. It'd be genius - the best idea ever.
Max or Danny Ric do it and it'd be controversial, part of that racer instinct.
Anyone else do it and it'd be clearly cheating.
In Aus, he'd probably be going on about how Merc pitting Hamilton to cover off Vettel meant that Ferrari was to blame for Hamilton loosing the race - reverse the roles and he'd be talking about the amazing Mercedes strategy to deprive Ferrari of a win..
Moaning about Ted aside....
I found out last night that they are showing all 17 Indy car races on Sky Sports F1 this year too, so if you're not away, you can set a season record.
