I would like to do the Stelvio thing this summer and fancy having a good old road trip in the Exige.
We did the Monte Carlo Historique this year in Mrs J’s old mini so did most of the famous stages. A lot of the info is available on the ACM website.
Planning another assault next year.
Col de Turini was a night stage so it would be great to see it in daylight.

Did you hear Monkey saying that Stelvio was the most over rated road in his Whisky Files?

Apart from the view, is the road a good drive?
I thought it was just a load of hairpins linked together all the way up the mountain pass.
Steve.

I'd imagine the number of cyclists would hamper the flow. I had to get up pre dawn for a good run up Ventoux.

They do. And the near blind hairpins in the knowledge there may be a cyclist or motorbikist coming the other way. Went last year, didn't love it as a drive because of the traffic and probably because the Abarth 595 I was driving was abysmal. Meet to Elise driver at the top who earned to enjoy it more. However, would still say it's a must do as the views on the way up and from the top are stunning. Great experience overall.
And Monkey is spoiled, let's be honest.

Will be even more cyclists now!

I cycled up from Prato last year and thought at the time it would be hard work in the Elise, especially towards the top, with the poor surface and risk of losing the front spoiler! Most memorable sight was a guy on a penny farthing trying to ride down!

South side flows better and is a nice drive apart from the hairpins towards the top, North side (the one in all the pics) is mainly hairpins. We only went down it. Think there were 100 lotus's there the day we were there.

I'm another on the not done Stelvio list. My original plan, when I did NC500 a couple of years back was to do something like that every couple of years, but this year obviously looks to be disappearing into doing nothing

So do we need a 2021 Stelvio Euro Tour thread started?
