I'd be up for it, or an option might be airsofting instead.
Similar to paintballing except that instead of using paintball guns you use replicas of modern submachine guns/rifles firing plastic BBs. The guns run on batteries and are pretty powerfull. A hit from a BB can sting a bit at closer quarters but nothing near the damage a paint ball pellet can do. Guns can fire on fully auto which is great fun and dosn't take long to empty a magazine of around 300 rounds. ( I had a couple with me at Achmelvich one year) BBs far cheaper than paintballs so easier to be generous with rates/length of fire
.
I was a marshall at Section 8's site up at Allanton on the A71 and I have spoken to the organiser and he can run private hire days. Cost would be £40 including Green Fees, Weapon Hire, Protective Masks, Food and around 3,000 BBs. Minimum group size is 8 and maximum is 24 with the ideal being around 20 players.
They run open to everybody walk on games once a fortnight on a Sunday (next one is 17th Dec) and private hire days are usually on the alternate Sunday or Saturday to their walk on days.

paintballing at this time of year is more painful - balls get harder the colder they are. Get your paint from ebay - £10 for 1000 as opposed to £10 for 250. You get a 'shack' to leave your stuff, so just refill in there. All you have to do is make an effort to 'look' like you're buying what you're using... you'll get busted if 10 of you manage 5 rounds on 1000 balls
Fact is, their T&Cs don't say (or those that I went on didn't) say you had to use their pellets or you get kicked off. Check that out before you go.
Bedlam is crap BTW - really small and enclosed and their markers are getting well tired.
Have fun guys, I've finished with my paintballing fad

Fair point. Cheating is frowned upon in airsofting and most folk teke their hits. Marshall can "test" out questionable people by firing off shots here and there on their own team members just to see if they take hits. Keeping games short, allowing players to respawn back into games or medic rules all help to ensure that a hit person does not have to spend long dead and therefore helps take away the temptation to cheat.Stephen wrote:Not that it applies here but how do you stop cheating with airsoft as i'm guessing that there is no indication that you have been hit.

Agreed - the one out at Glasgow airport direction is pretty dire!GregR wrote: Bedlam is crap BTW - really small and enclosed and their markers are getting well tired.
The best one I've been to was Scottish paintball centre at Fenwick, near Kilmarnock http://www.scottishpaintballcentre.co.uk

Just make sure the paint you buy on ebay is the same colour as theirs of course...GregR wrote: Get your paint from ebay - £10 for 1000 as opposed to £10 for 250. £7 per hundred is their standard cost - but they've been know to do a deal If you pre order the paint!mac wrote:The one at Fenwick is available to us on the deal - but I'm not sure how much the refill costs are - they seem to vary between £6 per hundred and £15 per hundred.

Hello, all
I'm Steve site organiser for S8.
I actually stumbled across this forum when Googling for a phone number I didn't recognise on my mobile, that wasn't accepting inbound calls - Found a post from Skyenet giving the number as his, then got a call from him asking if I could sort a game for you all.
Well, he's already posted most of the details - But if anyone's got any questions, feel free to fire them me-wards.
Airsoft's a fast-growing sport, but we don't have the advertising revenue the big better-known Paintball sites have.
Mainly because we charge a reasonable amount for our ammo and don't rip folk off by promising "free" games, or "Games for a fiver" that end up costing £70 odd quid in balls!
I allow any known brand of BBs on my site, and sell BBs for around £6 per three thousand.
As Iain said, you get 3,000 as part of your hire fee anyway. Also, no need to pay for gas refills.
OK, I'm biased, but I converted to Airsoft for a reason.
It simply is better.
Cheers
